There are many gods in Hinduism, but Lord Shiva holds a special place among them, earning him the title "god of gods." He is the god of both creation and destruction. He lives on the holy mountain of Kailash (Tibet, China) with his family and ganas. Lord Shiva has one wife, Parvati, and two children, Kartikeya and Lord Ganesha. Lord Shiva travels on his holy bull named Nandi. Lord Shiva is known for his anger; his tandava dance can destroy the earth in one second.
As we all know, Lord Shiva was called by many names by devotees like Bhole Bhandari, Mahakali, and Mahadev. But actually, Lord Shiva has 108 different names; these all have different meanings from each other. Lord Shiva was worshiped by chanting mantras of these 108 names. Devotees chant these 108 names 2-3 times daily to seek blessings. Each name and its mantra show us about his holy nature.
