Diwali Pooja is also known as laxmi pooja. The festival is happens on the amawasya(new moon) night of hindu month kartika(oct-nov). On this day hindus worship Lord ganesha and Laxmi Mata. In this year diwali will be celebrated on October 31, 2024. For Diwali pooja knowing the puja mahurat is important, so now look at the mahurat of Diwali 2024:
Diwali Puja Muhurat:
As per the Hindu calendar, Lakshmi puja on Diwali will be held on October 31th 2024 to 1 November 2024( according to panchang)

Pooja Vidhi For Diwali
1. Preparation:

Clean the Home: Began by cleaning your home. It is traditional thing to clean your home first, because it is believed that Goddess Laxmi only visits those houses which are clean properly.
- Decorations: A decorated home feels like a heaven, the home of god. So decorate your home with colorful Rangoli, Diya, Flowers and various decorative items. Use electric lights to remove darkness and negativity.
2. Ganesh and Laxmi Puja:
- Setting Up the Pooja Space: Choose a clean and beautiful space to perform puja in your home. If you have space in northeast direction it was best. Place a clean cloth or Flower petals on the space and Place both idols on that.
- Kalash Puja: Puja always have to began with kalash, Firstly fill the kalash with water, add one rupee coin in it then cover it with mango leaves and put a coconut on top of kalash. offer prayer to kalash make a swastik sigh on kalash with Kumkum.
3. Puja rituals:
- Ganesh Puja: Start by performing The Ganesh Puja. Offer flowers, light agarbatti & dhoop, and Chant Ganesh Mantra. Lord Ganesh, the destroyer of obstacles, is worship firstly among all gods.
- Laxmi Puja: Next perform Laxmi Puja. Decorate the idol of goddess Laxmi with flowers and garland. Light the oil Diyas and offer sweets and fruits. chant the Laxmi strotra and mantra to take the blessings.
4. Ganesh Mantra:-
- Aarti: Perform the aarti in front of deities. Perform both ganesha aarti and maa Laxmi aarti to take their blessings.
- Offerings: Firstly offer sweets to the God and Goddess and then distribute the prasad among family members and neighbors, sweets like laddu and halwa perfect for this purpose.
5. Laxmi Pujan on Dhanteras: Two days before diwali, known as dhanteras, on this day devotess do a seperate puja for lord dhanvantri and goddess laxmi. This day marks the beginning of diwali celebrations and focuses on health and wealth.
